Definition: The Courageous Citizens Award (CCA) recognizes the exceptional bravery and commitment demonstrated by ordinary citizens in advancing the cause of democracy, justice, and equity in Nigeria. It celebrates individuals who have exhibited remarkable courage and sacrifice for the greater good of the nation, embodying the spirit of civic responsibility and activism.
We are a good governance project powered by the Nigerian and US- based organization- The Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice & Democracy (NACJD), dedicated to honoring individuals who exemplified remarkable bravery and commitment to fostering a credible electoral process and a better Nigeria. It also seeks to acknowledge and celebrate the unsung heroes who, amidst adversity and danger, demonstrated unwavering courage, resilience, and dedication to the principles of democracy.
By highlighting their actions, we aim to inspire others to actively engage in shaping the future of Nigeria and to foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and civic responsibility. It further seeks to bring together leaders of industry and civil society, the media, and members of the public to participate in this novel but noble effort to those ordinary citizens who are our society’s uncommon heroes
